Zen

Zen is a branch of Buddhism that emphasizes on minimal living and being part of nature. This branch of Buddhism is popular in western world due to less chanting and ceremony but actually practice on understanding the true wisdom and nature. The center of Zen Buddhism is at the Plum village in Bordeaux, France. Zen masters teaches their disciples by telling stories. Here is a good example: It is an important rule for Buddhist monk to never be alone one-on-one with woman. Of course, to touch a woman’s body is prohibited. One afternoon a zen monk was crossing a bridge and saw a young women that was about to drown in the river because she accidentally fell down and didn’t know how to swim. That zen monk jumped off the bridge and helped the woman from drowning and gave her CPR. After the woman started to feel better she thanked the monk and went home. A lot of people saw the incident and started to talk about it and condemn the monk. They came to the temple and asked the monk to resign. The reason was because he touched woman’s body and he didn’t deserve to be a monk anymore. The monk gently smiled and replied... “Yes, I held onto her body to save her life, she should be happy with her family by now....I already put her body down by the river and no longer think about it and l’m now living in my present...why don’t all you people put it down and enjoy your day!
